Exercise to Achievement

A Good Idea

Description

Exercise to Achievement is a new program designed by the Tri 4 Schools organization. This program is an eight week after-school training and life-skills program running March-May 2014 that helps children train for a Spring triathlon or mud run, while focusing on the mental benefits of being active. Teachers from six participating schools will lead groups of 30-40 elementary and middle school children through swimming, biking, running lessons, and strength conditioning, with a social/emotional component accompanying each training session.

Goal / Mission

Tri 4 Schools encourages kids to participate in swimming, biking, and running as a way to live an active lifestyle and support health and fitness resources in schools.

Impact

Results of Exercise to Achievement are pending completion of the pilot program.

Results / Accomplishments

Exercise to Achievement is being piloted in six schools in spring 2014, and results will be posted upon completion.
